Mateo Puerta

Mateo Puerta is part of the Billing and Client Communications team at Bassey Immigration Law Center, based in our Tampa office. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Mateo assists clients by processing payments, contacting individuals with outstanding balances, and sending reminders for important court hearings and scheduled appointments. He is also responsible for updating and maintaining the office calendar to ensure all deadlines, hearings, and case events are organized, accurate, and easy for the team to track.
In addition to his billing and scheduling responsibilities, Mateo provides clients with general guidance, answers common questions, and ensures they have the information they need at every stage of their case. He values communication, clarity, and patience, and takes pride in helping clients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their immigration process.
Mateo enjoys working closely with the firm’s diverse community of clients, as it allows him to connect with people from many cultures and backgrounds. He believes that every client deserves compassion, respect, and timely support, especially when navigating such an important journey for themselves and their families.
Outside of work, Mateo loves attending music festivals, trying new foods, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family. He also enjoys being around animals, especially dogs and other pets, and appreciates the joy and peace they bring.
