Biography
Ana Medrano is an Immigration Attorney at the Tampa Office. Ms. Medrano is a first-generation immigrant. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Ms. Medrano was born in Mexico and moved to eastern North Carolina at the age of 11. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Medrano obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and licensed in Florida. While in law school, she received the book award for Immigration.
During her time in law school Ms. Medrano worked as an immigration law clerk for Marshall Denning where she assisted with H1 RFEs. She also participated in the Immigration Clinic at UF where she assisted clients mainly with adjustment of status applications, as well as interned with the State Attorney’s Office at the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pasco County.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Medrano worked as a Branch Manager with BB&T for six years where she helped clients in the areas of retail and small commercial lending. She is a graduate from the prestigious BB&T Leadership Development Program. It was precisely such program which brought Ms. Medrano to Florida in 2012.
Ms. Medrano has always been passionate about immigration and giving back to her community. Throughout the years she has worked as a coordinator and ESL instructor, volunteered her time to help individuals apply for their residency or citizenship, and has been involved in tutoring programs through the community’s Literacy Council. Her goal is to continue advocating for immigrants in her community.
Outside of work, Ms. Medrano enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her shih tzu Koko. She loves to read a good mystery, enjoys the outdoors, and loves anything health and fitness related.
